Matthew 26:28 (KJV) 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

For Christmas a few years ago my family got me a DNA kit and I was amazed at the results of my lineage.  My ancestry revealed much more than I’d been told by my parents and grandparents.  DNA testifies to undeniable truths.  My blood  connected me to places and people I wouldn’t have dreamed of.

Think about it…the same blood that flowed through Jesus’ veins as a baby, pumped through His heart as He walked the shores of Galilee healing folks.  When He hung on that wooden cross, the same blood ran from his veins, staining the cross and the linen that wrapped His body for burial.  On the first resurrection day, that same blood-stained garment was proof of evidence that it was indeed Jesus who was risen.

As Andre Crouch wrote, “It still reaches to the highest mountain and it flows to the lowest valley.  The blood that gives me strength from day to day will never lose its power.”  Jesus’ blood is His gift of sacrifice that helps us understand unconditional love and the price of our salvation!  It testifies that there is no distance God won’t go to save each and every one of us.
