INSIDE FIRST BEFORE OUTSIDE

INSIDE FIRST BEFORE OUTSIDE

“So the Lord’s anger was aroused against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generations that had done evil in the sight of the Lord was gone.” Numbers 32:13

The first person you’ll ever lead is you! You can’t lead without discipline yourself. If the Israelites had remembered this, they wouldn’t have wandered aimlessly for 40 years in the desert. The reason they didn’t get to the promise land was not because they missed their turns and got lost. They didn’t get to the promise land because they hadn’t prepared to go in the first place.

So, this causes us to pause and ask the question - are we ready? How do we measure up in the area of self-discipline? It was Plato that said, “the first and the last victory is to conquer oneself.”

If we plan to lead as God has called us to lead we must through self-discipline:

1. Develop and follow our priorities.

2. Make a disciplined lifestyle our goal.

3. Challenge our excuses.

4. Remove the idea of rewards until the job is finished.

5. Stay focused on results.

I’ll leave you with this one thought...NEVER TRADE WHAT YOU WANT AT THE MOMENT FOR WHAT YOU WANT MOST!
