The River Flows

John 7:38 says, “He who believes in Me ...out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

There’s nothing more soothing than walking alongside a flowing river.  A river flows into places beyond our ability to reach. Think about that…Jesus says, “if we have received Him, we have a river flowing from us that will reach into places we could never go on our own.  Places like “the ends of the earth,” Acts 1:8.  

We are used of God when we make ourselves available, but He is responsible for the outflow because a river is victoriously persistent and isn’t restricted to barriers.  It’s incredible because it goes along on a natural course and when it faces a barrier, or unexpected it doesn’t stop. That’s what we often do when we are surprised by life’s obstacles.  The river of God overcomes and shouldn’t we. If you’re facing something today that has surprised you, it’s not to stop your progress.  

Allow the RIVER inside of you to navigate through the uncertainties to keep you close to Jesus Christ, relying on His strength.  Don’t allow emotion, experience…nothing should keep you from the great sovereign Source – Jesus Christ! If you will stay the course, you’ll find that God has developed and nourished in you mighty, rushing rivers of blessings not only for you but for others.
