Life-time friends

Do you have a BFF?  Do you know that special person who is supposed to be a best friend forever?

The term “friend” is used so loosely these days and denotes acceptance of a person’s actions or words.  The, “forever” however is different.  While I may consider a lot of people friends, very few are in the forever category?  These are the friends that rise about petty issues and are able to negotiate through the difficulties, rather than allowing them to become greater problems.  I have certain friends in this “forever” category that we enjoy hanging out together, they can often finish my thoughts or sentences.  With these friends, we share common beliefs and practices.  With them, I can let my guard down. 

Jesus is more than a friend!  He’s a true BFF!  He’s the friend that I didn’t ask for, but certainly wouldn’t want to do life without him!

Proverbs 18:24  (NIV) 24 One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
    but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
