SHELTERED FROM THE STORM

SHELTERED FROM THE STORM

One of my all-time favorite songs says, “The raging storms may ‘round us beat…we’ll never leave our safe retreat.  He’s our shelter in the time of storm.”

Biblical personalities like Joseph, Daniel, Ruth and others seem like GIANTS OF FAITH when we read of the trials they faced and how they responded.  On the other hand, Peter’s struggle we often relate too.  He experienced fear, anger, doubt and faith.

For example, in Matthew 14:30, Peter was consumed with fear, crying out to Jesus to save him as the wind and the waves were about to overtake him.

I can relate to Peter’s feelings, because I’ve left some storms behind, been in the middle of many storms or saw some fierce storm approaching that were beyond my control.

So, if you’re treading water today or maybe feel like you’re about to go under the water in some area of your life – stretch out your hand and cry to God to save you.  Jesus cares and has the ability to lift you up, providing a safe retreat from whatever storm you may find yourself in. I pray that you’ll put your hand in the hand of the Man who stills the water.
