Lyrics of the hymn, Surely Goodness and Mercy, says, “He restoreth my soul when I’m weary; He giveth me strength day by day.” Psalm 23 is a reminder that we will all face trials at one time or another. Some of them are severe, like the death of a relationship. Loss. Illness. Devastating disappointment. Most likely something will come our way that is beyond anything we could comprehend. It’s then that we find ourselves weary and worn. We seem to have more questions than we have answers, as we wait patiently on the Lord’s direction. If we’re not careful we will succumb to fear and anxiety.
It’s in these uncertain times that we are vulnerable to the lies of our enemy. Yet, right in this moment, there is a truth that we can cling too: GOD HAS NOT ABANDONED US!
He provides a way station for the weary. Our Heavenly Father is a dawn bringer – overcoming dark nights. Jesus, of all people, understands suffering and sorrow. He is our source and our strength.
HE WILL RESCUE YOU!
HE WILL COVER YOU!
HE WILL RESTORE YOU!
If you’re tired?
If you’re weary?
COME TO JESUS!
